St Wilfrid’s has provided a home to our residents in Tite Street, Chelsea for over thirty years and we are extremely proud of the care they continue to receive. Sadly, in light of the challenges that face the care industry, the restrictions of our building and our low occupancy, St Wilfrid’s will close by 31 March 2019. The challenges that we have faced are not unique – in fact many are shared by providers across the care sector – but a number are particularly acute for us.
Our residents, their families, our employees and volunteers have been informed about this sad decision. We are working in partnership with Local Authorities, including The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council, and will be supporting our 25 residents and their families in finding suitable, alternative, high-quality accommodation, as rated by the Care Quality Commission.
The community of Sisters will continue to live at 29 Tite Street, which also houses the Central Offices of the Charity of the Daughters of the Cross, which delivers services in 11 countries around the world.
We would like to thank our residents, staff, Sisters and Chaplain for allowing us to use photographs of them
